It is unusual for Yamaha bodywork to split horizontally at the base gasket of the cylinders, but the upper and lower on this assembly do just that. The upper has an air intake duct on the leading edge; the lower also has intakes to cool the clutch and ignition cover.

Yamaha FZR600 supersport solo tail section - Bowman version
The seat on the left has a story behind it. In 1983 Vance and Hines rider Jamie Bowman had a problem getting behind the bubble since he is quite tall. To give him more room we angled the butt pad area back and created some more space for taller riders to slide back in the seat. Both seats retain stock upholstery and have the tail light area filled in, though holes can be cut in the fiberglass to accept the tail light for street usage.

What we have here is a highly developed body panel from 1992. As you can see it has the right and left lower fairings, the inside radiator guards and the lower radiator guards all molded as a one-piece unit. The front leading edge of this fairing has a generous radius to help ovoid a high pressure bleed off around the sides. Although the lower of this belly pan is all filled in, some racing organization may require you to put a dam in the rear to meet their oil containment requirements. Although this piece is similar to our Competition upper ZX7R1C, it is slightly different at the inside area below the headlight. As you can see from the pictures the area is all sealed off around the fork legs and has a much more generous radius at the front leading edge.

This is that little piece that fits between the right and left lowers and mounts behind the front fender. A lot of guys don' t use these pieces anymore, but if you want to we have them available. Their a little tricky to install, we see people zip tie them on and glue them on with clear silicone. But a craft guy can figure it out in a few minutes.
