For the second race season HD reshaped the return area under the nose in an attempt to funnel more air to the motor for cooling purposes. Other than that, we believe this fairing is identical to the first generation.

This the short race circuit fairing, also known as the hourglass fairing, which was designed for use on the low boy chassis. With its much lower steering head height, this was the preferred setup on tighter tracks. The fairing itself is actually much smaller than its long circuit counterpart -- though not quite as aerodynamic. Again, these fairings were obtained from Team Obsolete and made off of uncrashed Harley parts. It you have an XR project in the works or are building a vintage racer, Airtech can make you very happy. This is a cool new Sportster cafe seat that combines a classic Manx style bubble with some small round numberplates. It will look good with either the stock tank or our XRTT road race tank!
This seat has a taillight/licenseplate bracket integrated into the back.

We designed this XR750 conversion seat that conforms perfectly to the tapered Sportster frame. Cut a slot in the recessed mounting point in the front and slide it underneath the stock seat mount on the frame. Two bolts through the rear fender mount struts complete the mounting process. Simple!
This seat comes with a taillight/licenseplate bracket that you can position to your liking and bond in place with Bondo or epoxy.
Please note: Please note: designed for the '86-'94 Sportster with removable fender struts. Will fit '95-03 Sportster but welded on fender support struts will need to be cut and stubs will remain exposed. Will not fit '04-up rubber mount Sportster – subframe is too wide throughout.

This is our XR750 replica road race tank for your Sportster. The XR750 frames had a very skinny (1') backbone so the original XR750 tank wouldn't fit onto the stock Sportster frame (1.65'). We have completely redesigned the tunnel to fit this tank to the standard Sportster frame.
The original 5GL XR750 top shell was modified to match the Sportster tunnel. This tank has a neat dimple top/front and can be bolted to the backbone (you need to drill and tap) right behind the headstock. The rear of the tank has a deep pinch seam that can be drilled for a mounting point or two. A 3/8' fuel bung is normally placed on the front left side of the tank, we can supply a matching Pingel valve.

The three piece design pictured was obtained from Rob Ianucci of Team Obsolete; the molds were taken off of original, unmounted Harley Davidson parts.
Two different versions are available. The lowers are similar, but the upper differs depending on whether the bike is a drum or disc brake unit.
The disc brake version of this fairing has a much smaller and shorter dash area to make room for the massive brake master cylinder mounted on the handlebars, shown in the pictures below.
